SESP Entrance requirements

To enter the Science Extended Studies Programme (BSc-F) students apply via admissions to the Science Faculty at Rhodes 老虎机游戏_pt老虎机-平台*官网. Candidates need to have at least 38 points based on the National Senior Certificate code ratings to be considered for admission by the Dean of Science. Further requirements are English Language (as a home or additional language), Mathematics (not Math Literacy) and either Life Sciences or Physical Sciences. Students need to have obtained at least a rating of 4 or above (>50%) for these subjects to be considered.  Students must also be South African citizens, and preference is given to students who are first generation university entrants from lower socio-economic backgrounds.  Although we welcome students from across South Africa, the majority do come from the Eastern Cape Province.

Provisional admission to Science Faculty is based either on final Grade 11 or mid-year Grade 12 results. However, these offers are conditional on the final NSC results (Matric November exams) meeting the entrance requirements. Students will be given an offer to be placed in the Science Extended Studies Programme at the discretion of the Dean of Science who considers the student’s long-term best interests in successfully completing a BSc degree at Rhodes.
