The Institute for Water research (IWR), Rhodes 老虎机游戏_pt老虎机-平台*官网 celebrated Ms. Sofia Lazar, an MSc student upon successful completion of Her MSc course in Water Resource Science. The farewell event was held on 13th July 2024, and was attended by staff and students at the institute.
In his opening remarks, Prof. Nelson Odume, the Director, Institute for Water research, Rhodes 老虎机游戏_pt老虎机-平台*官网 congratulated Ms. Sofia upon successful completion of her masters course earlier than the stipulated time. It must be noted that her research looked at modeling water quality dynamics through integrating Pywr, climate change, and land cover scenarios in the Upper Vaal, South Africa.

Sofia is among the many students that have benefited from funding by the Intra-African Academic Mobility scheme, through African Water Research Mobility Network (AWaRMN) project, based at Institute for Water Research (IWR), Rhodes 老虎机游戏_pt老虎机-平台*官网.

In her remarks, Ms. Sofia acknowledged the support by AWaRMN project that has enabled her to complete her research in time. She appreciated her supervisor, Dr. Neil Griffin for his tireless support, guidance and encouragement offered to her during her course, as well as other staff at the institute who have been key in making her academic journey a success.
“I have learnt so many things through our interactions, these I will forever cherish, thank you very much, until we meet again, she said”.
