Nicholaus Huchzermeyer holds a Master of Science Degree in Geography with a focus on fluvial geomorphology, a BSc Honours in Geography and a Bachelor of Science Degree (BSc) in Geography & Geology. Nicholaus has been gaining experience in integrated catchment systems and is an avid outdoorsman with project management skills, experience in field-based biophysical research and a comprehensive knowledge of Geographical Information Systems and their use as a tool in catchment management. Nicholaus falls part of the Sediment and Restoration team for the Tsitsa Project. His main roles include the creation of spatial data sets of the location and condition of ecological infrastructure as well as the threats to ecological infrastructure in the Tsitsa River Catchment. Following on this he plays an important role in setting out prioritisation and management data sets and reports. These are integral for decision making by managers within the greater project to avoid further degradation of the catchment. Finally he plays an important part in shaping and implementing the biophysical monitoring plan for the Tsitsa River Catchment.
