Meetings
- Attended BOR: Where I gave a presentation on Unisex Residences, and the allocation of people in annexes. We made a proposal to the BOR Committee; to re-look the allocation process.
- The resolution regarding Unisex residences: BOR appointed a sub-committee that will be looking into the findings of the past conversations that were held around this.
- The committee also is tasked to relook at the existing proposal and re-work the documents.
- The committee also suggested that, talks need to happen in reses to get the views of the students around this.
- Attended all council meetings, was part of the negotiating panel with Management during the academic shutdown we had.
- Held meetings with SRC Hall reps:
- Out of these meetings we went through out projects, and used this term to plan them out so that we can execute them in the fourth term.
- We have sub-committees; we have a hygiene group and meal review group, pad drive (where we are collaborating with Students Benefits and Sponsorship Councilor together with the Sports and Societies Councilor).
- Attended Student Parliament and Student Body meeting where we were making amendments to the constitution as we are reviewing it this year.
- Attended SRC Executives meeting: where we were planning out the Mbokodo Caucus (Our Legacy Project).
- Attended Cluster Meetings: where I was sharing all my projects for this semester.
- Attended Student Services Council meeting that was held on the 20th of August.
- Attended Senate meeting on the last day of term.
Events:
- Attended the Silent Protest.
- Attended The Multilingualism Colloquium: I was part of the councilors who were gathering student’s perspective around the issue of Language being a barrier in teaching and learning.
- Went to the Reflections Talks that were held at Barret.
- Attended the Talk on Shifting the Blame that was held during the Silent Protest Week
- Attended the memorial Services that was held for Ms Maseko.
- Went to the Grazzle and the Presidential Debate.
Projects for the Semester:
- Hygiene Campaign: We will dedicate a week where we will be visiting residences talking about basic hygiene. The councilor and a Hall Rep will be facilitating these talk and we will ask Residential Operations to organize a speaker from Housekeeping to answer any questions that may be directed to them.
- Pad Drive: In Collaboration with SBS and Sports, we will be collecting sanitary towels.
- Meal Review: Due to poor turnout, we will redo this project to mobilize numbers so that we can engage with Res Ops on the menu they are currently providing.
- Handover: Inducting the new Residence Councilor to the office; by showing them the practicality of their duties, this will happen over a period of eight sessions.
- Noodle Drive: Every Exam term we will doing this drive as a way of assisting students when they are studying throughout the night to keep the midnight oil burning.
Fourth term
- I was a judge in Environmental Fashion show that was held by Courtenay Latimer. The houses outdid themselves in raising awareness about the things that we could use to try and maintain an environment that is friendly to our surroundings.
- I was a participant in the International Sports day fun run that we had on the 20th of September 2018 where we were raising awareness and promoting the International Sports Day that was going to happen on the 22nd of September 2018.
- On the 20th of September, we had a mass purple Thursday where we were launching multi-projects: We were launching our Anti-Crime Wise Campaign, Meal Review Week, Pad Drive Week, International Sports Day and the Heritage Day.
- On the 24th of September 2018, I went to an SRC event with collaboration with the International Office, assisted with the set up and the clean after the “Show me your root show”.
Pad Drive (ran from the 17th of September 2018 until the 21st of September 2018. But we are still continuing collecting through our SRC Hall Representatives and receiving donations that are dropped in our offices).
- The Residence Councilor created a sub-committee that was responsible to organize the Pad Drive.
- We met as this committee, and drafted the proposal that we were going to distribute to sponsors. We also talked about the distribution plans, but the numbers will affect how we distribute.
- We collaborate this campaign as councilors:
Mr Sports and Societies – He asked the societies to donate sanitary pads towards the campaign.
- We dedicate a week to the campaign, in this week myself and the Student Benefits and sponsorship councilor we went around different places in town to try and lobby donations. All the stakeholders we went to, we were well received and they were so keen on working with us.
- The first time we did the project, it was not successful due to lack of participation from our students. As the Meal Review committee we decided to re-do the project and send emails explain what is the main purpose of this review.

Purpose of the campaign:
To promote cleaner, healthier and safer living in our residence environments
The Rhodes 老虎机游戏_pt老虎机-平台*官网 Student Representative Council (and SRC Hall Representatives) in partnership with Residential Operations we are running a hygiene campaign (from the 1st of October until the 5th of October).
- To promote healthy living within our residences, we partnered with Residential Operations to encourage and promoting cleanliness habits.
? This is your opportunity to engage with the Representatives from Residential Operations; to voice out your res related issues (such as fumigation, maintenance issues and availability etc)
Throughout the week we will be sharing Information on basic hygiene.
Then on Thursday we will be having a talk at Barratt Complex, please do come through with any questions and suggestions that you may have.
