Tuyeimo Haidula
My name is Tuyeimo Haidula. I am a journalist.
I was until January 2017 employed by The Namibian Newspaper, where I have been writing professionally since 2011. Prior to obtaining working experience, I graduated with an Honours Degree in Journalism (Print Media and English) from the 老虎机游戏_pt老虎机-平台*官网 of Namibia.
Born and bred at Onekwaya West, in Oshana Region of Namibia, I attended Oshigambo High School, one of the best schools in Namibia. While there I had a great experience in 2006 when I went to Camp Glow to join Peace Corps Volunteers.
I love creative non-fiction work. I am drawn to the writing and communication field, as this is where my strength lies.
I am currently enrolled on PGDip in Media Management at Rhodes 老虎机游戏_pt老虎机-平台*官网’s Sol Plaatjie Institute for Media Leadership. This course introduces students to new forms of media spawned by convergence and their impact on ‘old’ or legacy media. The course teaches strategies and analytical tools that media managers need to embrace to ensure the ethical survival and sustainability of their organizations.
Currently, I am also a consultant at C4ADS and a corresponded at Citizen News Service. When I return to practising as a journalist again, the main objective of my stories will be to look at the state of investigative reporting in Namibia as a whole and not solely focus on government officials and their frequent misuse/ abuse of public funds and resources.
I now see the need for more in?depth and investigative reporting on human rights and health issues. The overall aim is to start up my own media company, known as Haidulas Media House, in the near future.
