Onai Hara is a social worker and Sign language interpreter from Zimbabwe. She has worked with Zimbabwe Deaf Media Trust in the production of ‘Action Power’, a television programme that captures the experiences of deaf people in different communities, celebrates Deaf culture and offers D/deaf people a platform to express themselves in Sign language.

Issues that interest her are inclusion, access to information and services for persons with disabilities as well as disability rights in general. The PDMM course integrates her professional skills as a social worker with her work experience in the media, capacitating her with tools of engaging media practitioners in developing inclusive media policies and running economically sound media organizations.
