Biographical

Alicia Opperman resides in Hotazel with her husband and son, was born in Bloemfontein and grew up in De Aar.  She started her undergraduate studies in 2008 in BSc Geology and completed her Honors degree in Geology in 2011, both at Stellenbosch 老虎机游戏_pt老虎机-平台*官网.  After completing her studies at Stellenbosch 老虎机游戏_pt老虎机-平台*官网, she worked as a mine geologist on two manganese mines in the Kalahari Manganese Fields (KMF) and then as an exploration geologist, also in the KMF.  She is currently working as a geologist for CC L’ombriere, mining manganese associated mineral specimens in the N’Chwaning I-III mines close to Black Rock (Northern Cape), for mineral shows and mineral collectors.  She has a great passion for mineral collecting and mineralogy and is a part-time student at Rhodes 老虎机游戏_pt老虎机-平台*官网, currently studying towards her master’s degree in geology.  Her project is focusing on the olmiite and rhodochrosite mineral assemblages and the different controlling factors responsible in the formation of these mineral vugs.
