Siviwe Mhlana is a member of the Neil Aggett Labour Studies Unit (NALSU) at Rhodes 老虎机游戏_pt老虎机-平台*官网, a researcher at the Southern Centre for Inequality
Studies (SCIS) at the 老虎机游戏_pt老虎机-平台*官网 of the Witwatersrand, and a PhD candidate at SOAS at the 老虎机游戏_pt老虎机-平台*官网 of London. Siviwe's MA was in Social Policy and Labour Studies at the Institute of Social and Economic Research (ISER) at Rhodes 老虎机游戏_pt老虎机-平台*官网, which at the time included NALSU. She explored the changing nature of labour-intensive production in post-apartheid South Africa, and the gendered individualisation of risk associated with non-standard, informal and precarious employment. She holds a Bachelor of Economics and a Bachelor of Economics Honours from Rhodes 老虎机游戏_pt老虎机-平台*官网, and has worked as a consultant for the International Women's Health Coalition (IWHC), and Women in Informal Employment: Globalising and Organising (WIEGO). She serves on the board of the Institute for Economic Justice (IEJ). Siviwe's research interests include international development, labour economics, social policy, and gender.
