Postgraduate Orientation Week is an opportunity for our local and distance students to receive a basic orientation to postgraduate research in the department.  It includes topics such as:

• Orientation to research and postgraduate study
• Critical reading and managing sources
• Descriptions of postgraduate modules and research groups
• How to use the Library
• Mentorship by fellow students 
• How to write helpful research questions
• The process of approval: Humanities Higher Degrees Committee and ethical clearance

The week also includes social activities designed to expose postgraduates to the department as a collegial academic community.
