The subject of the conference was Law, Religion, and Environment in Africa. At the conference, the 6th book in the ACLARS series on Law and Religion in Africa - Law, Religion and Human Flourishing in Africa was launched, in which both of them published a chapter. Prof van Coller’s chapter is entitled ‘Ritual slaughter and religious freedom: The impact on the flourishing of religious communities in South Africa’, and Mr Akinloye wrote on ‘Human flourishing, church leadership and legal disputes in Nigerian churches’.
At the General Assembly of the African Consortium for Law and Religion Studies, Prof van Coller was also elected a member of the ACLARS Board of Directors, for a term of 5 years.
