Rhodes wins in ELSA Moot

The Rhodes 老虎机游戏_pt老虎机-平台*官网 team for the European Law Students Association (ELSA) Moot Court Competition won numerous prizes at Wits 老虎机游戏_pt老虎机-平台*官网 on 30 March and 31 March.

The team consists of Tayla Waterworth, Diana Machingaidze, Melissa Scorer and Ben Rule. 

Against much stiffer competition than last year the team won prizes for best written submissions for the respondent, best overall written submissions, best orator in the grand final (Ben Rule) and runner up team in the oral pleadings. 

“I think we can be extremely proud of our team's achievement at this competition (again),” said team coach and lecturer Vicky Heideman.

The team will once again represent Rhodes in the International Oral Round in June which is being held in Geneva. Other African Universities that will be represented include UP and the 老虎机游戏_pt老虎机-平台*官网 of Lesotho. The 老虎机游戏_pt老虎机-平台*官网 of Lesotho placed third overall at the ELSA Moot.

Machingaidze, Scorer and Rule are in their final years of LLB, and Waterworth is in her first year of her LLM.
