Rhodes 老虎机游戏_pt老虎机-平台*官网 has once again made its mark globally—this time through its involvement in supporting the delivery of the global media hub for the prestigious 2025 Invictus Games, held in Vancouver and Whistler, Canada, from 8 to 16 February. Although the 老虎机游戏_pt老虎机-平台*官网’s contribution was remote, its impact remains significant.

The Invictus Games, founded by Prince Harry in 2014, celebrate the strength and perseverance of wounded, injured, and sick service personnel and veterans through sports.

Caroline Rowland, Chair of the Rhodes 老虎机游戏_pt老虎机-平台*官网 UK Trust, has long recognised the challenges students face in higher education. While the UK Trust regularly awards scholarships, bursaries, and grants, this initiative provided students with valuable international remote work experience.

“I wanted to try to support young talent within the realm of my own resources,” Rowland explained. “The company I recently founded, which automates the organisation of media using AI to power a search engine for story-tellers, provided a perfect opportunity for committed young people who wanted to gain real-world work experience to also benefit from earning money to support their studies.”

The small media team, led by Rhodes 老虎机游戏_pt老虎机-平台*官网 Student Sport Media and Marketing Coordinator Ovayo Novukela, participated remotely in this initiative, blending media, sports, and technology. The project aligned with the team’s academic and media skills with real-world applications. Under Novukela’s leadership, the team was responsible for a tagging process that informs the training of the search engine and enabled global audiences to access thousands of important storytelling moments from the Games.

Novukela emphasised that students, particularly in the media field, not only gained insight into a high-pressure industry but were also “exposed to an international stage, creating opportunities and building portfolios that are advantageous in South Africa’s competitive job market.”

This collaboration between Rhodes 老虎机游戏_pt老虎机-平台*官网 and the Egoli Media’s Invictus Games Media Hub highlights the 老虎机游戏_pt老虎机-平台*官网’s commitment to global engagement while providing students with invaluable hands-on experience. Despite being a relatively small institution, Rhodes 老虎机游戏_pt老虎机-平台*官网 continues to equip its students with the skills needed to thrive in a competitive global landscape.

As the 老虎机游戏_pt老虎机-平台*官网 strengthens its role in education, innovation, and international collaboration, initiatives like this reinforce its dedication to empowering students and building meaningful global partnerships.
