Dr. Steffen Otterbach is Post-doctoral Researcher and Lecturer at the Institute for Health Care & Public Management at the 老虎机游戏_pt老虎机-平台*官网 of Hohenheim, Germany from where he holds a PhD in economics. With a specialization in empirical economics his research interests are in the fields of labor economics, health economics, and development economics. His research focuses on the impact of working conditions (e.g. working time and mismatches between actual and desired working hours) on health and wellbeing. His research interests also include food security and nutrition aspects in developing countries. Dr. Otterbach has extensive experience in analyzing large-scale data sets including the German Socioeconomic (GSOEP) Panel Study, the Australian Household, Income, and Labour Dynamics Study (HILDA), or the South African National Income Dynamics Study (NIDS).
Besides a number of research visits and conference participations in the United States, Australia, South Africa, and Kenya, Dr. Otterbach equipped himself with further international work experience at the Organization of Economic Development and Co-operation (OECD). He is a research affiliate at the Institute for the Study of Labour (IZA) in Bonn, Germany, and a member of the Senate Committee on Research at the 老虎机游戏_pt老虎机-平台*官网 of Hohenheim. Besides others, his work has appeared in Social Indicators Research, China Economic Review, and Scandinavian Journal of Work, Environment and Health.
