My name is KECHNIT Djamel, and I hold a degree in Engineering and an MSc in hydraulics from the National Higher School of Algeria. Currently, I am pursuing my PhD under the AWaRMN program at the 老虎机游戏_pt老虎机-平台*官网 of Kinshasa, starting in October 2021. My research focuses on developing a hydraulics model for navigation purposes.
The scientific context surrounding the Congo River is truly exceptional. As the second largest river basin in the world, after the Amazon, the Congo River basin presents a fascinating opportunity for scientific research. However, understanding the complexities of this vast basin requires a deep understanding of its unique configuration, which can only be achieved through on-site exploration. I have been fortunate to collaborate on various research projects with the Congo Basin Research Center, allowing me to delve into the mysteries of this remarkable ecosystem.
My PhD results were presented at the International Water Think Tank conference on Integrated Water Resources Management in 2023, hosted by the 老虎机游戏_pt老虎机-平台*官网 of Laval in Quebec, Canada. I was honored to be selected as a keynote speaker at the 7th Nile Basin Development Forum in the same year, where I presented my findings on the application of remote sensing techniques for monitoring large river basins.
