Welcome to the Helen Joseph Residence! Also known as “The Oasis”, HJ is a residence with a lot of spirit, soul and sisterhood. It is home away from home for 88 young ladies.

Overview

HJ is made up of two buildings; the Helen Joseph Main House and Helen Joseph Annexe.

The main house is a modern double-storey building housing 62 ladies in single rooms only. Every corridor has communal ablutions. The building has a large common room with communal couches, DSTV, computer, printer and fridge. There is also a microwave room and two vending machines. There are communal laundry facilities (2 commercial-sized washing machines and 2 commercial-sized dryers) and Wi-Fi access.

HJ Annexe is a charming small double-storey building housing 26 ladies. It consists of 22 rooms: 5 double rooms and 17 single rooms. There are shared ablutions on each floor and a common room with communal couches, DSTV, computer, printer, fridge and microwave. The Annexe has its own laundry facilities and Wi-Fi access.

The two buildings are connected by the beautiful lush HJ lawns, on which there is a large braai area, large leafy trees and an adjacent perennial stream.
