Kimberlite petrology and mineralogy; Links between continental tectonics, alkaline volcanism and landscape development in southern Africa; Influence of landscape and drainage evolution on plant and animal evolution and distribution.

  • 1980- present: Diamond Exploration in Botswana, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Madagascar and South Africa. Established and managed two private diamond exploration companies (AMPAL (Pty.) Ltd. in Botswana and Somabula Explorations in Zimbabwe).
