The ELRC and Erasmus+ are involved in several projects in Southern Africa with a dual focus: To innovate new ways of learning about sustainability principles through digital platforms, and to enable educators to ground digital and technical training in the foundations of Sustainable Development Goals, transforming technological developments into social change.
ProCyD Project develops digital platforms for cybersecurity and data protection training in Southern Africa, focusing on Mozambique and South Africa, integrating sustainability with the help of the ELRC to support a sustainable digital transformation.
The INSSPIRE Erasmus Project unites African and European universities to enhance higher education on food systems and climate change. The ELRC contributes by developing curricula for agricultural training programs, integrating both food security and climate change.
The Sustainability Starts with Teachers Leadership (SSATL) project is a collaborative initiative aimed at transforming teacher education in Africa and developing leadership in Education for Sustainable Development, focusing on curriculum transformation, innovative teaching methodologies, and assessment practices. To achieve its goals, SSATL will establish ICT Labs in each partner university and implement a hybrid/blended capacity-building program for teacher educators.
