*To note that Graham House students do not feature as Graham House is not an active residence in 2024
As there is no academic award for the postgrad students of Celeste House, there is the Celeste House Student of the Year Award, which was presented to Kabelo Sopeletsile for his contribution to the residence.
Today, we celebrate Kabelo Sopeletsile, a dedicated student who understands that the small things are just as important as the big things—because, in truth, the small things are big things!Kabelo is being recognized by the House for his consistent presence and selfless contributions. Though not officially part of the house committee, Kabelo arrives as early as they do, stepping in to help with the running of the house as if he were a committee member. As a postgraduate student juggling many responsibilities, Kabelo's servant-heartedness stands out. While there is much one can say about Kabelo, his actions serve as a powerful reminder to us all that, no matter how challenging life gets or how busy we are, "Umuntu Ngumuntu Ngabantu"—our shared humanity always calls us to be of service to one another.

The Hall Leadership Award was presented to Christabel Makuba, of Prince Alfred House, for excellence in leadership.
Christabel has been an absolutely phenomenal academic rep and head mentor.
She has been very organised, professional and efficient, and very good at planning and executing tasks. She diligently allocated all mentees to mentors and has quietly and meticulously been following up and supporting both mentors and mentees. If you give Cristabel a task you can be sure it will be done to the expected standard without any need for follow-up. She manages to balance her work and personal life incredibly well, still maintaining excellent academic results. Her time management skills are par excellence. She is a role model and leader worth emulating. Well done Christabel.
