"Msifundisan'eMakhanda" In response to the Covid-19 crisis, CSD staff considered what part we could best play. Realising that there is a multitude of educational matter on the internet but that many in our communities don't have access to such material, we reached out to Sue McClennan at  Grocotts' Mail and through her to Shepi Mati in the journalism department.  The result is a campaign to share literacy and numeracy materials through the Grocotts' and local radio stations.  The initial commitment is to 6 editions, with the possibility of more to follow.  isiXhosa and Afrikaans have been prioritised, though most materials have been produced in English as well.  Cathy Gush and Anneliese Maritz from Lebone, and Pame Vale from the literacy chair have teamed up with us in this project, as have a number of volunteers.
