The HCI Foundation project aims to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education, and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all. Specifically, this project aims to co-create centres of excellence in ECD centres and grade R classes within neighbourhood hubs. This will include curriculum and classroom related matters and ‘joined up services. CSD, in collaboration with the HCI Foundation, are planning to host an Ezinkwenkwenzini “Circle of Care” Showcase where platforms are created to share and “show off” the connections, relationships, engagements and activities established between ECD’s and the Primary Schools. These engagements will range from community gardens, to nutrition support, to activities related to play, learning, booksharing, creativity, design etc. The next phase of this collaboration hosts a workshop that engages relationship building and asset mapping with that aim to establish connections between two schools (St Mary's and Tantyi Primary) and their feeder ECD Centres and various organisations so that we can begin to plan for the various activities that will be showcased at the end of July at the Makhanda Circle of Care Showcase.
