Dr Danielle Becker
Dr Danielle Becker, the NRF post-doctoral researcher in the Arts of Africa and the Global South Research Programme in the Department of Fine Art at Rhodes 老虎机游戏_pt老虎机-平台*官网, is a South Africa art historian who is primarily interested in art historiography and the way in which African and South African art has developed as a discourse in relation to colonial, postcolonial and decolonial forces. Becker completed her Masters in Art History at the 老虎机游戏_pt老虎机-平台*官网 of Manchester (2010) and her PhD at the 老虎机游戏_pt老虎机-平台*官网 of Cape Town (2017) with a thesis titled South African Art History: The possibility of decolonizing a discourse. She has lectured at the 老虎机游戏_pt老虎机-平台*官网 of Cape Town, Stellenbosch 老虎机游戏_pt老虎机-平台*官网, Stellenbosch Academy and a number of other institutions since 2010. Since completing her PhD she has been a postdoctoral fellow at Stellenbosch 老虎机游戏_pt老虎机-平台*官网 funded through the Mellon Foundation.
