Eman Abdou Mostafa

Eman Abdou is a visual Artist whose work addresses the complex relationship of the state to the Domestic realm. Abdou is an Assistant Professor at the Painting Department, Faculty of Fine Arts, Helwan 老虎机游戏_pt老虎机-平台*官网, and she also teaches at the French 老虎机游戏_pt老虎机-平台*官网 in Cairo, FUE. Abdou writes about social practice art and the relation between politics and arts in the middle East, and her Ph.D. was titled Egyptian Art and its Relation to Politics since 1990 till Now. In 2009, She had her MA degree from Helwan, writing her thesis on The Effects of Conceptual Art on Contemporary Art. She contributed to the best-selling volume Egyptian Rights and Duties. She had various solo and joined exhibitions, among them Domestic Relations: The Couch at 6 Contemporary Gallery, Egypt. Abdou participated earlier in various regional and international conferences, symposiums, Exhibitions and the curation of workshops in Egypt: Envisioning the Unseen at the EUF by UN-Habitat Egypt, The School of Art and Life: A contemporary Vision and BECAMI: Activities in the Museum. She's currently a researcher at BECAMI Project (Belle Époque Cairo Museums Itineraries) funded by the STDF and the AHRC.
